If you’ve been playing along with my bets you probably have no bankroll left. But I’ll keep cranking them out and trying to dig out of this hole.
Today’s card has a little bit of everything. We have one game that looks like a grind, one game that should get more desperate as it goes, and one very square Brazil total that I am Costanzaing and taking the opposite of my initial lean.
Scotland vs. Morocco - Half Bets on Under 2.5 Goals and 1st Half Draw
Half unit: Scotland-Morocco Under 2.5 Goals (-150 at DraftKings)
Half unit: Scotland-Morocco 1st Half Draw (+110 at all sites)
The first play is actually two half bets tied to the same game script: Scotland-Morocco under 2.5 goals and the first-half draw.
Morocco are the better team, but Scotland are not going to make this easy. Scotland already have three points after beating Haiti, so they do not need to chase this game recklessly. A draw would be a perfectly useful result. Their best path is to stay compact, make the game physical, win second balls, and turn this into the kind of ugly World Cup match where every chance feels like a major event.
Morocco should have more of the ball and more of the attacking quality, but they are also coming off a strong result against Brazil. They do not need to force chaos either. That makes the first half especially appealing for a draw. Scotland will want to survive the opening stretch, Morocco will want control before risk, and both teams should be comfortable feeling the game out before it opens up.
Rather than choosing between the full-game under and the first-half draw, I like splitting it. The first-half draw attacks the slow-start script. The under 2.5 gives us the broader version of the same bet, where this settles into a tight, low-margin game.
Türkiye vs. Paraguay - Over 2.25 Asian Total
Türkiye-Paraguay Over 2.25 Asian Total (-121 at Bet365)
The second bet is Türkiye-Paraguay over 2.25 goals on the Asian total.
This is the game on the card where the situation points toward aggression. Both teams lost their openers, which changes everything. A draw is not technically useless, but it probably leaves both teams in a very uncomfortable spot heading into the final group game. At some point, someone is going to have to chase.
That is why I prefer the Asian total here. Over 2.25 is a nice middle ground. If the game gets to three goals, the bet wins. If it lands on exactly two, you only lose half. In a match that could start tense but open up late, that matters.
Türkiye have enough technical quality to create chances, and Paraguay showed against the U.S. that they can be pulled apart when the game gets stretched. Paraguay also still have enough attacking pieces to contribute if Türkiye leave space behind them. This does not need to be a track meet from the opening whistle. It just needs one goal to force the game into a more desperate state.
With both teams needing something, I like the chances that this gets to three.
Brazil vs. Haiti - Over 3.5 Goals
Brazil-Haiti Over 3.5 Goals (-124 at FanDuel)
The third bet is Brazil-Haiti over 3.5 goals.
Yes, this is square. Let’s just acknowledge that up front. Betting a big Brazil over against Haiti is not exactly a galaxy-brain contrarian position. But sometimes the obvious bet is obvious for a reason, and the setup here makes sense.
Brazil drew their opener against Morocco, while Scotland already have three points in the group. That means Brazil cannot just think about winning this game. They need to think about goal difference too. With Scotland still sitting there in the final group match, Brazil have every incentive to build as much cushion as possible if the opportunity is there.
And we know they can put up a big number against this general level of opponent. They dropped six on Panama in a recent friendly, and while friendlies are not the World Cup, it at least showed the attacking ceiling is still there. If Brazil score early, this could get uncomfortable for Haiti quickly.
The other piece is game state. Haiti will likely try to stay compact, but defending Brazil for 90 minutes is exhausting. If they concede early, they may have to open up just enough to create more space. If they start making desperation fouls, a red card is absolutely in play, and that is the kind of thing that can turn a 2-0 Brazil win into 4-0 or 5-0 in a hurry.
This is not my sharpest bet of the tournament, but it is my favorite way to play Brazil today. The motivational setup, the tiebreaker incentive, and the mismatch all point toward Brazil trying to run this up if they can.
