Today’s card is all about finding the right version of the bet. There are a few favorites I like, but not all favorites need to be played the same way. Sometimes the moneyline is the cleanest angle. Sometimes the better number is on an Asian handicap. And sometimes the market leans under because both teams are “safe,” even when the actual game state points toward chances.
Czechia Moneyline vs. South Africa
The first bet is Czechia on the moneyline against South Africa.
This is not a glamorous pick, but it is the kind of straightforward spot I am comfortable playing. Czechia lost their opener to South Korea, but they were not overmatched, and this is a much more manageable second game. They should have the edge in structure, physicality, set pieces, and overall quality.
South Africa looked overmatched and overwhelmed by the moment against hosts Mexico. They are also coming into this match shorthanded after the red cards in the opener. That will hurt them, especially in midfield, where Czechia should already have had a decent chance to control the game. I had Czechia ranked 27th compared to 41st for South Africa, so I believe this is a bigger mismatch than the price is implying. In a group where Mexico and South Korea both started with wins, Czechia know this is the game they have to take if they are going to stay in the race.
I do not need them to win beautifully. I just need them to win. Against a South Africa team missing key pieces, Czechia should be able to grind out the result.

Mexico vs. South Korea — Over 2.5 Goals
Alternate: Over 2.25 on the Asian Total
The second bet is Mexico/South Korea over 2.5 goals.
This may look a little uncomfortable because both teams already won their openers, and a draw would not be a disaster for either side. But I do not think this sets up as a pure sit-back-and-shake-hands type of match. Mexico are at home, in front of another massive crowd, with a chance to take control of the group. South Korea also have enough attacking quality and pace to punish Mexico if the game opens up.
The Mexico angle is pretty clear. They should have the ball, they should push numbers forward, and they will want to turn home-field energy into pressure. But they are also without César Montes after his red card against South Africa, which makes the clean-sheet side of the Mexico case a little harder to trust. South Korea already showed against Czechia that they can score, and with Son Heung-min and the rest of that attack, they only need a few transition moments to make this game uncomfortable.
That is why I would rather play the total than pick a side. Mexico should score at home, but South Korea are dangerous enough to contribute. If this turns into a 1-1 game at any point, both teams have enough attacking talent to find the third.
For a slightly safer version, over 2.25 on the Asian total is a good alternative. You still win if the game gets to three goals, but if it lands exactly on two, you only lose half the bet instead of the full amount.

Bosnia +1 Asian Handicap vs. Switzerland
The third bet is Bosnia +1 on the Asian handicap against Switzerland.
Switzerland are the better team and deserve to be favored, but I do not think they should be priced like a team that is especially likely to win this comfortably. They were supposed to take care of business against Qatar and instead had to settle for a draw. Now they face a Bosnia team that is good enough, organized enough, and experienced enough to make this game annoying.
This is exactly the kind of spot where the Asian handicap makes sense. Bosnia do not have to win. They do not even have to draw for us to avoid losing. If Bosnia win or draw, the bet cashes. If Switzerland win by exactly one goal, the bet pushes. The only way we lose is if Switzerland win by multiple goals.
That feels like too much to ask from Switzerland at the current price. Bosnia can defend in a compact shape, compete physically, and look for chances on the counter or from set pieces. Switzerland may still find a way to win, but I expect this to be tight enough that getting a full goal with Bosnia is the right side.
